Shortcircuit into the Void is a multimedia installation that imagines a "404ERROR moment" within the racialized logics of neoliberal systems that govern contemporary existence. At its core, the work critiques the algorithmic structures of modern life—systems that categorize, extract, and commodify every aspect of the symbolic and material world, leaving little room for deviation or escape. Yet, not everything can be captured. Shortcircuit into the Void presents a speculative vision where moments of resistance—errors in the capitalist matrix—allow new worlds to form.

Through a fragmented video narrative and layered sound design, the piece envisions the void not as absence, but as a site of resistance and possibility. It interrogates those rare, fleeting pockets of existence—moments when what we are and what we do elude inscription, recognition, and commodification. These spaces are not merely speculative; they already exist within the cracks of exploitative systems, unnoticed but potent. When reclaimed and brought to light, these moments of disconnection become powerful acts of liberation.

The installation pairs the poetics of the spoken word with glitch-inspired visuals, fragmented timelines, and dissonant soundscapes. Digital imagery punctuated by interruptions, static, and shifting perspectives evokes the instability and unpredictability of resistance within a system designed for control. By framing errors and ruptures as opportunities for imagining alternative futures, the work reclaims the digital void as a space for liberation and community.

The void becomes a living space—breathing, pulsing, and defying inscription—challenging viewers to consider: What happens when we step into the uncharted, when we exist outside the frame of recognition?
